Itinerary
This exploration of Langkawi’s colourful history begins with a visit to the legendary Kota Mahsuri, the mausoleum of a beautiful young woman, named Mahsuri who was falsely accused of adultery and sentenced to death! She was laid to rest in this garden surrounded by traditional Malay houses on stilts. A video presentation will take you back in history with an emotional rendering of Mahsuri’s story. You will then be taken into Mahsuri’s environment to learn about the surrounding flora & fauna and the lifestyle of the local people. This includes sampling the local dishes and some delicacies made from rice flour. Continue on a scenic drive through the countryside passing villages, rice fields and fruit plantations. To further experience the rural lifestyle, we stop briefly at a rubber plantation for rubber tapping demonstration before returning to the hotel.
